What happens to "end of life" electronic merchandise on retail stores' shelves once they've gone obsolete?
Q. What happens to all the discontinued or devalued electronic merchandise in retail stores like Best Buy, Circuit City and other small "factory outlet" style stores when said merchandise can no longer realistically be sold? Take the example of USB Flash drives. A new 16MB flash drive can still work, but since the technology has increased greatly over time, stores only offer the lastest and greatest items (say, for example, a flash drive with capacity of 256MB and much, much more). The same could be said for hard drives, very early digital cameras, and other digital products which are constantly being improved. Stores just don't have the space to pile up devalued and discontinued merchandise, so, what happens to it all? Does the life cycle… [cont.]

Q. I have an art degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2002). The concentration is in costume design and construction. I have worked as a visual manager and retail manager (Banana Republic) and Store Manager (Charlotte Russe) for 4 years. In both of these cases I won several awards for management, merchandising, and sales goals. I love fashion, business, people motivation, and merchandising. I did not like the 50-60 hr work weeks (with no extra money I was salary, I don't mind working hard), constantly dealing with shoplifters, ridiculous hours (no one, even at Christmas time, shops at 8 on a Sun. morning in the South) and constant turnover (holiday help etc...) that you had to retrain. Q. My former employer doesn't have any employee rights posted she also either doesn't pay overtime or only pays over time over 80 hours it varies depending on her mood. I felt I had to quit due to her disrespect and ingnorace of employee complaints. She also has asked us to ask a customer she thought was stealing to remove her jacket and shake it to prove she wasnt stealling she also accused her of sticking stuff in between her boobs. I refused and she asked me to give the customer the phone so I did and she asked the customer to do so, Im pretty sure this is illegal you cant accuse someone of stealing until they are out of the store. She has 6 or 7 cameras around the store and can veiw everything from her home. One employee was stealing… [cont.]

A. I think if you are serious about it, there a a few options...labor board is one, but it may also be worth it to have a lawyer look into it
