What happens to "end of life" electronic merchandise on retail stores' shelves once they've gone obsolete?
Q. What happens to all the discontinued or devalued electronic merchandise in retail stores like Best Buy, Circuit City and other small "factory outlet" style stores when said merchandise can no longer realistically be sold? Take the example of USB Flash drives. A new 16MB flash drive can still work, but since the technology has increased greatly over time, stores only offer the lastest and greatest items (say, for example, a flash drive with capacity of 256MB and much, much more). The same could be said for hard drives, very early digital cameras, and other digital products which are constantly being improved. Stores just don't have the space to pile up devalued and discontinued merchandise, so, what happens to it all? Does the life cycle… [cont.]

A. We mark down the price to something like 99 cents and someone will usually buy it then.

Where can I find quality gauranteed Heat Transfer Machine and T-shirts in bulk for extremely low prices?
Q. I am looking for name brand "blank" T-shirts (white and/or color) of all varying sizes ( smallest to XXXL). Can be Hayne's, Fruit-of-the-Loom, Jer-zee, Anvil, Gildan, Lee...etc.; with quality gauranteed. I am interested in bulk buying at the "LOWEST" of all places. Also, gauranteed quality but low priced heat transfer machines. I am looking to start my own printed shirt business and would like quality merchandise without being "sent to the cleaners". Any helpful advice is TRULY appreciated.

Guinea Pigs From Petsmart or Petco?!!?
Q. I want to buy a guinea pig. Should I get it from Petsmart or Petco? Which takes better care of their animals in general? I know it varies, but a broad opinion/fact would be greatly appreciated. BONUS: Which sells their merchandise for less $$$? TIAV! (Thanks In Advance) Nyah, Emily, I hate to break it to you but there are NO small animals shelters around me. It's only cat and dog. I'm not going to force my parents to drive me 2 hours to the nearest shelter, they're already not happy about this.

A. I have a happy, healthy, and friendly guinea pig named Noah that I purchased from PETSMART. All these people with opinions about pet store guinea pigs dont need to have an opinion unless you have actually bought one from them. Shelters have pros and cons as well. I recommend petsmart or a shelter because usually at Petco they dont have a great selection. My guinea pig is very friendly and beats all the stereotypes that guinea pigs have like smelly, biting, etc.

A. I'd say a HP Pavilion laptop with an Intel processor is the best. My current laptop is an HP Pavilion DV6426US with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. Cost: $799 USD. Bought: Circuit City But btw, could probably help you out as well, as they have a search & then options to narrow it down by brand, cost, etc. So try there.

How do I make a profit partnering with HS doing fundraisers?
Q. I have been working with Jr. High and High schools I produce the the merchandise for them to sell, where I donate a pecentage to the school. I was just talking to a school about possibly starting in Jan, where she mentioned that the donation was not high enough. Come to find out she wanted her cut and mine. I just started this business so I am pretty ignorant about the cut. My question is what do you think is fair to donate to a school. My product is all handmade, and my cost varies from 1.5 to 5.5 I am selling the merchandise at 9 to 15.25 dollars a piece. The three schools I have been working with I have donated a dollar to their cause.

A. Wow, you're making a pretty hefty profit margin for yourself. Here's what I think is a fair arrangement: Donate 1/2 of your profit margin for yourself and keep the other half. In other words, if you have an item that sells for $10 and you paid $6 to buy that product, keep $2 and donate the other $2 to the school.

A. The way it appears Citi Bank is giving you a credit of $30. I see an asterik though. If you look at the bottom of the sales letter in very small print it should tell you how or what the credit is for. I am willing to bet they want you to sign-up for credit protection which will cost you so much per month than the will give you the credit or something of the sort. My opinion is basically they say they are giving you something, but it will cost you in the long run.

In the absence of figures for sales and accounts receivable, I would suggest you work out both the figures and determine which amount is more prudent, the use that method 3 Calculate average purchase price for valuation of inventory. The balce will be cost of goods sold to get profit 4. Deciding a depreciation method is a subjective matter. Use the one that can be more realistically estimated. 5. Revaluation of an intangible asset needs to be assessed from the point of view of future cash flows expected to be received from the trade mark. You need to analyze the nature of the action taken by competitors and how it affects the… [cont.]

Q. Why am i using the phrase "being forced"? Well think about it. Groceries- I'm not familiar with all the grocery stores there are around in different areas/countries, but here we have a few. One of which is Safeway. Safeway has cheap groceries & you can almost always find things that are marked down or you can buy the safeway brand. They make them cheap. People can afford these cause obv they have other bills they can't pay if they have a high grocery bill. Clothing- Okay this one can vary but let's focus on the cheap stuff. Macys is a place where you can find good deals on brand merchandise if you go on a good day & get luck. One shirt that used to bee 88 dollars you can now buy for like 35. A. It seems like we have fewer and fewer options as time goes on. Competition from the smaller and more local sellers is slowly being squeezed out. We don't have many alternatives to the big retailers like Walmart and Target. The big corporations can buy out the competition or force them out with below market prices.

You have some good experience, but if you are going to apply to any sort of professional job (as opposed to an unskilled position) you will need to rework your CV to be more formal and professional.
