What exactly is Fortnite? Fortnite is an online video game which was first released in 2017 it was created by Epic Games. It is available in different packages and they have different game modes, but the underlying game engine, and gameplay is shared amongst them all.

The game modes include:
Fortnite: Save the World, a cooperative shooter-survival game for up to four players where you fight off zombie-like creatures and defend objects with fortifications they can build,
Fortnite Battle Royale, a free-to-play battle royale game where up to 100 players fight to be the last person standing.

Both game modes were released in 2017 as early access titles; Save the World is available only for Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, while Battle Royale has been released for those platforms in addition for Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android devices.

Further add-ons and games are being released and this will be a popular title for years to come as more and more games are played online or as the adoption on the main stream consoles and mobiles also grows.

With numbers growing the Fortnite release on the Nintendo switch platform, player numbers had hit a reported 125 million.
