Nintendo Switch Console

Nintendo Switch Grey

The Nintendo Switch commonly referred to as the Switch, is the seventh major video game console developed by Nintendo and was released in March 2017, the previous console was the WiiU and Wii before it. The Nintendo Switch is considered a “hybrid” console, it is designed as a home console, with the main unit docked and connected to a television. Or alternatively, it can be removed from the dock and used similarly to a tablet computer through its LCD touchscreen.

It comes with wireless Joy-Con controllers, which include standard buttons and directional analogue sticks for user input, motion sensing, and high-definition tactile feedback, they can attach to both sides of the console to support handheld-style play. They can also connect to a Grip accessory to provide a traditional home console gamepad form or be used individually in the hand like the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, supporting local multiplayer modes. continue reading>>

Nintendo Wii U Console Xmas 2012

Nintendo Wii U Console
Wii U Game being played on screen

The Wii U is aiming to take over the success of the Wii several years ago.  Released on November 18th 2012 in the USA, this time the console comes in either standard for $300, or deluxe for $350 the latter comes with a black finish, more memory and a game.

The previous Wii was the first Wireless controller, the Wii U comes with a tablet-like controller which is 6.2 inches in size and is a 16:9 ratio LCD touchscreen, alongside the standard buttons and analogue sticks. This will allow the stylus to be used in some games and allow for easier browsing. And the idea is you can play on the TV or on the tablet screen.

Fear not you can use the old Wii-style remote so multi-player gaming should always be possible. My one question though is will it come with Bowling or Tennis which had such an impact on the Wii… nah.
