He-Man a fictional character whose duty was to protect the realm of Eternia and the Castle Grayskull from the evil forces of Skeletor. Produced by Mattel in 1982 around this time there was a number of action figures around not least Star Wars figures but these were aimed more at the younger target market and allowed them with the arrival of the animated series developed into He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

Castle Grayskull was the source of He-Mans powers, inside the castle was a Sorceress who could grant powers and could communicate telepathically.

In 1987 an action film was released and did rather badly, it was a much more aggressive film with fights, swords and lasers with the film ending in a big clash with the hero and enemy having a big fight… which then ended with I’ll be back so a sequel door could be left open. This was a failure maybe due mainly to being very different to the more tame scenes of the TV series.
