If you ask my nephew, he would give this “100 stars” as he cannot get enough of Lightning McQueen. He absolutely loves it. Sure, we are a “Disney family” and are ingrained to love all things Disney but truly, this is a great toy and a huge hit for the kiddo’s.
I got this for our Summer camp as my niece and nephew are forever complaining that they don’t have their own golf cart like the grown ups. This has been a safe and sane solution. The number one thing I can’t get over is that it really does move. Truly, there is some speed to this thing. I was shocked and almost jealous remembering the Power Wheels that I had when I was their age…they have come a long way. Something to keep in mind for sure with super tiny ones.
ASSEMBLY REQUIRED ALERT. This took about a half hour all together to put together and if you are a perfectionist a bit longer as you do have to apply a few of the stickers. All but one of the holes was pre drilled as well so we did need to drill one out, not sure if that was just our unit or if they are all like that. Overall, it did go together pretty easily.
I really appreciate the weight of this, it’s very light which makes dragging it across the lawn much easier once they abandon it for the day. The machine works best on pavement as there are no ‘treads’ on the tires but, with that being said it still works just fine on the grass. There is a ‘sound machine’ on the steering wheel that is pretty adorable as well and not nearly as annoying as other toys that make noise. Battery life is also good here and can last about 30 to 45 minutes on a charge.
This is a great toy and works very well. My 3 year old nephew is the perfect size for this and despite being too big for it my 7 year old niece also loves it.
Shorter review: This is perfect. My 2, 4, & 6 year olds drove this thing around all afternoon today and loved it. They drove it all over the road, gravel, rocks, and the lawn. It cannot make sharp turns that that was their only complaint as they were frequently running into things. They love it and recommend every parent buy it!
Longer review: I took a while to even open up the box as I was dreading putting this together. The last car I put together took hours and really wasn’t easy. Overall, this was easy. The bumper holes didn’t align right so that took some maneuvering. The amount of stickers was actually the biggest pain. The instructions show you where to put all the stickers but some of them are challenging to line up because they are curved or large. It is easy to get a bubble in the bigger stickers and it is not easy to take them off and reapply. I wish they had just had all the sticker on when I opened the box. The battery takes at least 18 hours to charge to start which was upsetting to my kids who wanted to drive it as soon as I opened the box.
